Minnie

RESCUED BY a GOOD SAMARITAN

WECOME TO CAMP COCKER MINNIE!

Minnie was rescued, with her sister Mable, from an elderly couple who could no longer care for them. Their Good Samaritan rescuer took them in hoping to find a rescue group to rehome them - and that’s where we came in!

Minnie was born on September 1, so is now about 9 months old. She weighs about 20 pounds, is spayed, and is current with her vaccines.

Because of the high probability of “Littermate Syndrome” Minnie and Mable won’t be adopted together. They adjusted quite well to this arrangement when placed in their foster homes.

LATEST UPDATE 5/15/23 - FROM MINNIE’S FOSTER MOM:

- Minnie is extremely sweet, and is doing very well! She loves attention and is always on the lookout for someone to play with her! She’s still a puppy and has a lot of energy!

- Minnie is great with other dogs and plays well with them. She’d very much enjoy having another dog in the household.

- Without another dog in the home, Minnie appears to have some separation anxiety when left alone.* (See additional info below)

- She isn’t a fan of cats and gets a little startled when she sees them.

- She does well on walks and she’s great with baths. She has a great appetite and always finishes her food. She is not territorial over food.

- Minnie is completely potty trained. She doesn’t have accidents and always goes outside. She lets me know when she needs to go potty if the back door is closed - but if it’s open to the backyard she just goes outside on her own.

- She sleeps on her own bed on the floor. She can jump very high and will nap on the couches or the bed.

- Minnie is not much of barker unless she hears something outside - but even then, it’s only for a few seconds.

*Minnie doesn’t mind being alone, as long as there’s another dog in the household - but if there are no other dogs in the home, and if she is left alone, she will exhibit signs of separation anxiety that can include barking & even howling to show her discomfort.

UPDATE: Minne is most likely a Terrier mix - maybe even part Portuguese Podengo - based on her appearance, abilities, and personality!
