In an effort to invite more people to get involved with animal rescue, either through donations or volunteering, we would like to share with you what it really costs us on a daily basis. Camp Cocker is unique in that we do actually vet the dogs and spend quite a bit of money to rehabilitate them. We dream of one day having an abundance of foster homes so that no funds are drained by boarding fees and of having an abundance of donations so that we are never struggling to pay off vet debt or trying to scrape together funds for dogs in line waiting for medical care. We try to find the vets in town with the best prices and also have arranged a good price with the boarding facility that we use so that we can make every dollar stretch as far as possible.

We are one hundred percent supported by donations and on average, we spend between $500 - $750 on each dog we rescue (medical bills & boarding are our biggest expenses). About once or twice a month, we will get a dog that needs expensive surgery so we are always in need of donations. We are always operating in the red so please pass the word for us that we need donations. Also, what a great gift for someone who has everything . . . make a donation in their honor and we will send an acknowlegement card on your behalf.

Or if you prefer to donate by check, please make it out to Katrina Dog Rescue (c/o Cathy Stanley) 14320 Ventura Blvd., #236 Sherman Oaks, CA 91423
To see an example of how much a Medical Rehab dog can cost, please check out one of our most favorite rehab doggies, MURPHY and his sad little story at: MURPHY's WEBPAGE. He was with us for three months and we are so happy that he found his meant-to-be mommy and daddy to give him the love that he deserves!
