hey there little Dixie . . . what do you look like under that mop?

Meet little Dixie, minutes after being sprung from the Hooskow! She is at our groomer right now getting shaved down. She can't be bathed yet because the shelter just spayed her on Tuesday and she has steel staples in (ouch!). We of course would have preferred to have her spayed at our own vet to get nicer stitches, but what can you do? At least she is safe now.

Thank you to Lisa Atterby and Angels Under Our Wings Cocker Rescue in Victoria, B.C. for agreeing to take Dixie into their rescue group. Dixie will be staying here in California at our boarding facility until Lisa has room for Dixie there. Until then, we will be posting Dixie for adoption on our website as well. If we end up finding a qualified adopter for Dixie here in California before her flight up to Canada, then we will adopt her out upon Lisa's approval of a suitable adopter. Thank you to Lisa for being a friend to the cockers!

Here she is, the beautiful new and improved Dixie! Her front left paw was discovered to have a wound from an embedded fox tail. Our vet removed it and soaked her paw, cleaned it out and she is now on anti-biotics. Oh Dixie, who didn't take good care of you before? Well, you try to forget all of that now because we are going to find you a home that is going to take much better care of you. You deserve it you little munchkin face!

Cathy, Kristi, Augustina and Theodoro are going to be gone all day tomorrow to visit our doggies in boarding. Cosmo's home safety check is happening tomorrow up in Northern California. If anyone lives in the Los Angeles area, we need volunteers. Anyone want to walk Dixie or Teddy while they stay at the vet? Please email us at: CampCockerCathy@gmail.com Have a woofy weekend everyone!

Poor baby! Foxtales are nasty little things! We've had a couple of "encounters" with them and they were NOT fun! So glad this sweetie pie is all better now!
