Meet little cutie-pah-tootie, ELLIE MAE!

Ellie Mae is the newest petite cocker girl, we don't know where they all keep coming from but their owners are turning them in to the shelters at a rapid pace. We can't believe the beautiful dogs that we are rescuing, Ellie Mae has the cutest little face that we just want to kiss her! She has a small cherry eye peeking out from her left eye and we are going to get that fixed with the tuck surgery. Ellie Mae came into the shelter with at least five inches of matted hair all over her body. It took a volunteer more than three hours to shave her down, only to discover hundreds of fox tails all over her skin. Yet this little dog is so trusting and shy and sweet, why would anyone want to put a dog through such neglect? And she isn't very old, her teeth are white, we are wondering if she has never in her young life, even had a bath or a haircut? We are guessing someone bought her as a cute puppy then put her in the backyard and didn't want the hassle of brushing her or keeping her clean? Well, their loss and Ellie Mae is now going to be some lucky future adopter's gain! She is so little and quiet and sweet that we just want to nurture her and love her and we hope to find an adopter who feels the very same way!
