Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 10:01PM Meet the itty bitty pretty girl, SHIRLEY!
Shirley is a shy petite little girl who craves feeling safe with her special someone. She is very nervous with strangers and new people and for this reason we would like to find her a calm and easy going home where there is not a lot of chaos. She will bond quickly to someone gentle, she just wants to feel secure. She loves to be held and loves to be on your lap or near you. She will follow you from room to room just to be close to you.
Shirley is house trained to use a doggie door and a backyard to go potty. She spent a few days with a temporary foster-to-adopt home and they scolded her for using their lawn and she got so nervous that she held her bladder for much too long (they wanted her to go potty on a side area that had no grass). As soon as she came back to Camp Cocker she was going potty regularly again, she just was trying so hard to be a good girl for them and she didn't understand why they wouldn't let her go potty on the grass. She is a sensitive little dog and very much in tune to the energy in your home so if there is stress around, she is going to pick up on that. She needs a nice calm stress free, loving and peaceful home where people are not going to be inpatient with her or scolding her. She really really tries to please and is very much motivated by trying to figure out what you want from her so that she can receive your praise and positive reinforcement.
