Welcome to Camp Cocker Bandit!
Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 06:21PM Meet the gorgeous and happy, BANDIT!
Bandit is a sweet natured, highly intelligent, loyal and affectionate 3-year old tri-color male. He loves adults, children and other small to medium sized dogs. Despite his trepidation about big dogs, the friendly ones eventually win him over. Bandit is a great off leash hiker but he enjoys neighborhood leash walks just the same.
An athletic dog with an active mind, Bandit would need a family who got him out several times a day for walks, a trip to the dog park or a hike.
True to his breed, he is bird focused but even in hunting mode generally displays good recall. It would be a plus if he could find a family with another dog.
Camp Cocker rescued Bandit from the Hesperia Shelter on June 4th. Hesperia is a high foreclosure area and sadly, Bandit was turned in by his owner. His first night in his foster home, he carried three dog toys to his comfy new bed and tucked in with them for the night. He let out a big sigh as he drifted off into his cozy slumber.
Bandit is currently being fostered by a Camp Cocker family in West Los Angeles. His housetraining is coming along but since he was only recently neutered we have had to keep an eye out for marking. He is currently living with a very alpha Jack Russell and is comfortable with the beta dog rank in the household. Though he could probably use some help with his food obsession, compulsion with kitchen trash and urge to scale kitchen counters to get to food.

Camp Cocker is looking for VOLUNTEERS willing to be of service and open up their homes to offer one foster spot to a dog on an ongoing basis. Fostering a dog until it can find a forever home can be a lot of hard work, but the emotional rewards are incomparable when you know you have been a part of a dog's rescue journey from shelter to forever home.
If you are interested in joining Team Camp Cocker as a FOSTER PARENT, please fill out the Online Foster Application so that we can learn more about your home and try to match up the best foster dog to your lifestyle. (Camp Cocker will pick the dog for you to foster based on compatibility with your other dogs and also based on whom has been in boarding the longest and is at the top of the waiting list to find foster). Thank you so much for supporting animal rescue!
