the sweetest pea . . . we will always love you

There are no words for the grief we feel in saying good-bye to this special little dog. Thank you to all of the fans of Sweet Pea for your support and for loving him like you have. And for all of our donors, because without all of you, there would be no second chances for a dog like Sweet Pea. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you all. Camp Cocker Rescue is such a small organization and we are barely getting by, just one donation at a time. Because we often end up rescuing dogs with a lot of medical needs, we end up spending more per dog than most other rescue groups do. For most if not all of the dogs that we are rescuing, Camp Cocker is literally their last chance. Sweet Pea was rescued in 2009 and because of our donor support, he was able to get another chance to get good care and know love while he was in (foster/hospice) with Camp Cocker. Please help us to be here for the future dogs like Sweet Pea, as we can only survive with your ongoing support! They are doing a rare intimate performance in Santa Monica, California on February 12th at 8pm at McCabe's. Tickets sold out quickly but proceeds from the show will be supporting both Camp Cocker Rescue as well as another wonderful charity, Batonga Foundation. We are very grateful for their generosity and for giving back to two great causes! Camp Cocker is the most amazing rescue group. Thank you, Cathy & Team for making sacrifces in your daily lives to give these beautiful cockers a second chance. Sweet Pea is genuinely a part of the heart and soul of what Camp Cocker is all about. Thank you for ALL that you did to help him have two of his best years. RIP Sweet Pea!

Sweet Pea was an adorable, sweet little wiggle-butt, and he will never be forgotten!! I saw him as a bit of a mascot, because he always pushed on, even when he wasn't feeling great... This beautiful, little old man touched many hearts and his story will continue to do so as he inspires people to help dogs like him get second chances.
