do you know the way to San Jose?

Darling Dixie, Beautiful Betty and Silly Sam . . . are about to meet their new people!

With a little help from a lot of people, these three cutie pies are about to go to their new homes tomorrow! Thank you to Kitri and Leo for doing the home safety check for Dixie's new people in Rohnert Park. Thank you to Monica for doing the home safety check for Betty's new people in Gilroy. Thank you to Chris for doing the home safety check for Sam's new people in Pinole. Thank you to Yehuda, the volunteer pilot from PilotsNPaws who is so generously going to be flying us up tomorrow to bring these three rescue doggies to their new homes. We are flying into San Jose and all three sets of adopters are driving in to meet us and to meet their new wiggle butts for the very first time. We can't WAIT to see how everyone reacts (this is the fun part about rescue, making people happy and giving the dogs their forever homes). Thank you to Kristi for coming with to help out tomorrow and for Monica and Stuart who will be wearing his Camp Cocker Ambassador jacket at the airport.

It took a LOT of people to make this happen . . . and we could never do it without each and every one who is doing their part to support animal rescue. We WOOF you all!

Oops, Monday is the last day of the month and we owe our boarding bill of $3021 for the month of May. We also owe Brentwood Pet Clinic $2796.22. We have a brand new bill that we just started running up at Community Vet where we have six dogs right now (all those cherry eye kids, but they were worth it). We can't even think about all the new medical bills right now until we get our other two bills paid first. Even if you just give up eating out one day this week and donate your lunch money, it adds up and helps more than you can even imagine, it really does. It takes a village of us to save these dogs and to all of you whom donate and support the dogs, you are as much a part of each dog's rescue story as any of us are. You are their heroes!

Become a Friend of Camp Cocker for as little as $3 a month! Each of us can't do it all by ourselves, but all of us together, we can make a difference, one cherry eye cocker at a time.

a get out of jail card, a new home and a little more fame

Hey there good looking, how did you get in the mix?

Okay so remember how we walked through that shelter the other day and couldn't decide which cherry eye cockers to leave behind and we ended up taking them all? Well, we passed this sad looking cocker mix boy and he accidentally left the shelter with us . . . oops! We saw that face looking out at us and what could we do? He over powered us with his cuteness! His new name is now Crosby and he needs a nice home. Anyone looking to adopt a sweet boy with a freckle face?

Holiday weekend coming up and what a great time to adopt!

ADOPTIONS IN THE WORKS! Dixie is going to her new home in Rohnert Park, CA on Saturday. She never even made it to petfinder, her adopters saw her show up on our blog and wanted her and got their application in fast. Thank you to Camp Cocker volunteer, Kitri for doing their home safety check last weekend. We are currently figuring out if we are going to drive Dixie and meet halfway somewhere. Good thing we have all of the Starbucks stops memorized up and down the 5 freeway. Betty and Sam both have home safety checks pending, one in Gilroy, CA and the other in Pinole, CA. Thank you to Camp Cocker volunteers Monica and Chris for trying to schedule these before Saturday. If all goes well, we might be driving three lucky cockers up towards Northern California this Saturday. Cross your paws everyone!

Here's another treat for those of you in the Shaggy and Sampson Fan Club!

Celebrity Spaniels Strut their Stuff! Here is a nice article in the Los Altos Town Crier (a local newspaper in the home town of one of our adopters). Thank you to Darla and Mike for adopting Shaggy and Sampson and for talking up Camp Cocker Rescue! Shaggy and Sampson continue to win friends and influence people everywhere they go. What a pair of much loved doggies. If you keep double clicking on the article to the right it will get larger so you can read it easier.

hey there little Dixie . . . what do you look like under that mop?

Meet little Dixie, minutes after being sprung from the Hooskow! She is at our groomer right now getting shaved down. She can't be bathed yet because the shelter just spayed her on Tuesday and she has steel staples in (ouch!). We of course would have preferred to have her spayed at our own vet to get nicer stitches, but what can you do? At least she is safe now.

Thank you to Lisa Atterby and Angels Under Our Wings Cocker Rescue in Victoria, B.C. for agreeing to take Dixie into their rescue group. Dixie will be staying here in California at our boarding facility until Lisa has room for Dixie there. Until then, we will be posting Dixie for adoption on our website as well. If we end up finding a qualified adopter for Dixie here in California before her flight up to Canada, then we will adopt her out upon Lisa's approval of a suitable adopter. Thank you to Lisa for being a friend to the cockers!

Here she is, the beautiful new and improved Dixie! Her front left paw was discovered to have a wound from an embedded fox tail. Our vet removed it and soaked her paw, cleaned it out and she is now on anti-biotics. Oh Dixie, who didn't take good care of you before? Well, you try to forget all of that now because we are going to find you a home that is going to take much better care of you. You deserve it you little munchkin face!

Cathy, Kristi, Augustina and Theodoro are going to be gone all day tomorrow to visit our doggies in boarding. Cosmo's home safety check is happening tomorrow up in Northern California. If anyone lives in the Los Angeles area, we need volunteers. Anyone want to walk Dixie or Teddy while they stay at the vet? Please email us at: CampCockerCathy@gmail.com Have a woofy weekend everyone!
