Freedom Flight PUPPY MILL RESCUE!!

*** aaron has been adopted!!! ***

WELCOME TO CAMP COCKER RESCUE AARON!

Meet FREEDOM FLYER AARON - one of the eleven Cocker Spaniels who were rescued from a puppy mill.

Camp Cocker Rescue was contacted by KDS, a rescue organization in South Korea, asking us if we might be able to take eleven cocker spaniels that they rescued from a puppy mill closure. There were twenty-seven dogs in total, and we of course said YES!

These dogs were living in cruel conditions and sadly, the breeder had debarked them all. 💔

  • Aaron is estimated* to be 6-8 years old and weighs 24 pounds.

  • He is sweet & loving, friendly with people and other dogs.

  • He is neutered & fully vaccinated.

  • After he was rescued from the puppy mill, Aaron had his bulging left eye enucleated and was lovingly fostered by the Cocker Moms until he was ready to fly to America.

  • His enucleated eye has healed nicely. His remaining eye is being treated for dry eye, and he has limited vision in that eye.

NEWEST UPDATE FROM AARON’S FOSTER FAMILY:

• He's a funny and relaxed dog. He barks when we prep his food, or if he wants to be in the same room as you. But that's it. He's not nervous or restless. Loves being around other dogs!

• He's started sleeping on the bed pretty much every night. Sleeps through the night.
• Likes to eat toy fluff, but interestingly, he's not a toy shredder.
• Tail wags a mile a minute!
• Can't wait to get in the car, or any car, to go for a car ride!
• Loves daycare, he gets to sniff butts and follow people around for treats!

FROM AARON’S FOSTER FAMILY:

He's a bro comedy best bud. Want to go on an adventure? He's your guy.

Aaron is so sweet and a pretty confident dog. If there's a sound or noise... he wants to check it out. If there's a dog or a person, he'll want to meet them. Socially, he's a Matthew McConaughey vibe, as a dog. And he loves to go on walks. He sleeps during car rides.

He sleeps through the night with very rare potty instances. Right now, he chooses a doggy bed over sleeping on the bed. During the day, he does need to wear some cool party pants (male wraps). He potties outside fine, but he's still learning the no marking thing.

Aaron is around 6 to 8 years young. He's got a goofy young teenager energy and vibe, and then is happy catching a nap nearby. So if you want puppy energy, strength and enthusiasm 50% of the time, Aaron is your guy.

He needs some vision support and care. Like stopping at curbs to let him know to step down or step up. And keeping an eye out for obstacles that he might not see. And right now he has an eye medication routine... several medications throught the day.

He is still learning not to mark. This will take time and a little training.

He's a parkour puppy. He does climb accordian or lattice style doggie gates!

He's not a fan of being alone away from his people, while they are in another room. Sometimes he's fine and other times he will let you know. He has been debarked, but he does have a moderate raspy bark.

We are working on crate training, making it a positive thing for him.

He's great at doggy daycare and is busy greeting all the dogs and following people around for food.

*Please note that any age provided is only an estimate, based on veterinary examination!

Aaron is being fostered in Southern California.
