Amy

Adopted SEPTEMBER 2023!

Amy’s Story:

This tiny cocker spaniel flew to America from South Korea in August of 2023, where she had been discovered in a shelter by one of our rescue partners, known as the Cocker Moms. They’d found her just in time, because Amy was on the kill list. Amy was very overweight and her blood pressure was high. Now weighing less than 17 pounds, darling Amy is a super sweet girl who loves people, other dogs, and going for walks. She has an issue with her heart, so we took her to see a cardiologist who recommended a 24-hour heart monitor to figure out why her heart rate is so slow. It’s possible that Amy will need a pacemaker. We wanted to find special adopters for Amy, who would be committed to her cardiology care, including regular visits to a specialist and whatever else she may need.

Now named Emmie, her new parents were so excited to meet her and take her home to Las Vegas, NV, where they say she is doing great! She has had no accidents inside, uses the dog door, loves her toys and walks, and is enjoying a yummy homemade food with supplements from Just Food For Dogs. Emmie has her own car seat and likes going for errands with her adopters, whom she also sleeps with at night. They’ll be getting a ramp for her and are currently working on some leash pulling while on walks. They really like her veterinarian and have found a veterinary cardiologist to help them look after her heart health. Emmie loves to be near her people and they tell us she is just a great, loving dog!

From Emmie’s adopters: “We sure love her. She has stolen our hearts for sure.
