Angie

Adopted APRIL 2020!

Angie’s Story:

This sweet nine-year-old Cocker Spaniel was rescued from the Lancaster/L.A. County Animal Shelter in April 2020. We aren’t sure what Angie’s history is, but she already knew how to do lots of tricks. Perhaps she used to have someone who loved her and taught her these things, but at some point Angie was failed by humans and ended up in a shelter, an overweight senior dog with a mouth full of rotting teeth.

Now named Emmie, this girl has an adopter who loves her so much and is dedicated to helping her be her best self! Emmie is on a healthy diet and has lost a lot of weight. She enjoys daily walks with her new mom, and one of her absolute favorite things is getting belly rubs. Her mom says that Emmie makes purring noises like a cat! She also loves to nap while laying on her back, which cracks her family up. She is a cutie pie who is super full of love.

Emmie struggled with separation anxiety when she first arrived at her new home, but her adopter says it is now completely gone after attending doggy behavioral classes. She is such a smart girl. Sadly, Emmie still struggles with some insecurities and can sometimes act out towards other dogs and people she does not yet trust or feel safe around. Her adopter is committed to helping Emmie overcome her fear issues, though, and they regularly work with a positive reinforcement trainer. Emmie’s mom believes in her and just wants the rest of her life to be happy.

From her adopter: “Emmie has been a blessing and has become my top priority. I love her so much and thank Camp Cocker for bringing her to my life!”
