Baloo

Adopted JULY 2022!

Baloo’s Story:

Between 7-9 years of age, this sweet cocker spaniel joined our rescue in December 2021 as one of our Freedom Flyers from South Korea. He’s a very nice boy, but quite shy, and was reluctant to come out of his travel crate when we met him at LAX. Although Baloo was fearful of new situations, he liked treats and would tolerate mindful, gentle handling. Sensitive Baloo needed a special home that was quiet, calm, and could give him a routine he could count on.

Now known as Blue, he spent most of his early days with his new family hiding in his crate. His mom and dad each tried to spend considerable time with him getting him used to them, their scents, their habits, etc. What really helped Blue start relaxing was their other two dogs, Mandy and Bailey. Blue grew to like them and they helped him to feel more comfortable there. He regularly follows his cocker siblings around, watching what they do, and is making a little progress each day. Blue is starting to blend into the household, is very good on a leash, willingly lets his mom give him meds, and he is even starting to come when they call him. His new parents regularly celebrate all of his progress!

Fun fact: Blue’s sister, Mandy, was adopted from Camp Cocker in 2020!
