Billy’s Story:

Silly Billy was rescued from the Downey Animal Shelter in September 2019 after he’d been hit by a car. This adorable Papillon mix was less than a year old when he sustained a fractured pelvis and torn ligament. The poor baby also had a major congenital heart condition that required surgery. Billy first had an angioplasty to open the leaflets of his pulmonary valve, which is meant to normalize the blood flow from his heart to his lungs. After his recovery from heart surgery, Billy then had an FHO surgery to reattach the torn ligament in his leg. He was such a trooper through it all!

Affectionate and energetic, this sweetie just wants to snuggle and play! For several months he attended regular physical therapy sessions at Two Hands Four Paws to help his leg get stronger post-surgery. Though he will likely never walk completely normally, that doesn’t slow this puppy-monkey down one bit. He loves to run and play and wants to meet every single new person and dog he sees! He is bold and curious.

Billy’s adopter is madly in love with her special little boy and the two have so much fun together. She loves his sassy personality and Billy adores his mama and all of the attention she lavishes upon him. It’s a match made in heaven.
