Brownie

Adopted MARCH 2022!

Brownie’s Story:

Rescued from the South Los Angeles animal shelter in December 2021, Brownie was friendly and active. Estimated to be about 8 or 9 years of age, he desperately needed a dental and some treatment for itchy allergies. Weighing 35 pounds at the time of his rescue, Brownie also needed to lose a couple of pounds. He was completely potty trained and seemed to be used to living in a house. This spry guy had lots of energy for an older dog, really loved attention, and would sweetly come up and touch you with his paw for love. Unfortunately, he liked to guard the bed and would sometimes growl and air snap at his foster parents. He also showed signs of separation anxiety when they would leave, howling and barking for several minutes after they’d left the house.

Now named Benny, his adopter has continued working with him on his separation anxiety. It’s been challenging, but she tells us that her little love is more than worth it. She is confident that they have a solid plan and with time and patience, they’ll get through it. Benny is so happy in his new space! He loves it there and, of course, all of his mom’s friends and family ADORE him. He's wonderful with the neighbors, children, and with any other pups he meets.

From Benny’s adopter: ”I love him… Thank you for bringing us together.”
