WELCOME TO CAMP COCKER RESCUE BUFFY!
BUFFY is a lovely Cocker Spaniel Freedom Flyer from Mongolia. Her rescuer, Zorigoo, originally named her Bus because when she was a stray she walked onto a city bus and sat next to his wife!
Buffy’s estimated* to be 2-5 years old based on veterinary examination. The vet also noted that she has a mild grade 1 to 2 heart murmur.

8/12 UPDATE: Buffy’s foster mom has just provided us with more details:
Buffy is extremely friendly and affectionate.
She's a little pushy when seeking attention/affection. If you give her the slightest little bit, she insists on more.
She is house-trained! She had two accidents inside on her first night here, but has consistently pottied only outside since then.
She knows how to "sit" and "give paw" on command.
Buffy LOVES toys and playing fetch and is very gentle.
She is very vocal when playing or rolling on the floor - it's hilarious!
She’s friendly with other dogs, but she can be a little bossy and get into their space.
She occasionally chases the cat, but is not at all aggressive.
She only barks occasionally when she hears a dog or person passing by, but it is not consistent.
She is perfect in the crate. She happily goes right in at night when I open the door, is quiet through the night, and waits silently until I let her out in the mornings, even if I take the time to shower first. Very impressive!
Buffy also sleeps nicely next to me on the bed or couch.
She is good on leash but does pull a bit. She doesn't stop to sniff too often, she'd rather walk at a quick pace. She’s active and loves taking walks!

In the fall of 2022 Camp Cocker committed to taking in seven cocker spaniels from Mongolia.
almost a year later we have more on the way!
The process is quite extensive because Mongolia is on the list of countries that the C.D.C. has on a watch list for rabies. So each dog must go through a lengthy process in order to get approved to enter the U.S.
It can take up to five months (or longer!) to get permission, after two rabies vaccines, a blood draw, a titer test and lots of paperwork.
We at Camp Cocker Rescue believe that compassion has no borders and just because Buffy happened to be born into a situation where her options were limited, doesn't mean she isn't worth being rescued.
Thank you for having a heart for dogs like Buffy. It means so much to us to be able to say “yes” to a shelter dog in need - no matter where that shelter is located.
