Charles

Adopted JANUARY 2023!

Charles’s Story:

Charming Charles had been rescued from a puppy mill in South Korea and was one of eleven dogs that Camp Cocker committed to taking from there. He was flown to America in November 2022 as part of our Freedom Flight program. Sadly, all of the dogs had been debarked by the breeder, an incredibly cruel and painful procedure that strips them of their ability to vocalize and communicate and can lead to issues like coughing and trouble swallowing. The filthy caged conditions that he had been suffering in would be just as common for an American puppy mill, this one just happened to be in Korea. We couldn’t say no to these dogs. Despite his heartbreaking history, Charles is incredibly sweet and snuggly. This 7-year-old cutie absolutely loves people and other dogs!

Now known as Gus, we’re happy to share that he is settling right in to his new home! His mom keeps referring to him as her angel dog because he is so well behaved and just so happy to be there. He sleeps through the night in bed with her and his adorable new fur brother, Curly. Gus and Curly hit it off right away and Curly even lets Gus sit on his favorite ottoman! Every day his diaper is dryer and dryer, so his mom has lots of faith that Gus will be fully house trained in no time. She says they’ve literally had no problems! Bravo, Gus!
