Cherry

Adopted MARCH 2019!

Cherry’s Story:

Cherry was about two years old when she flew to America as one of our Freedom Flyers from South Korea. This adorable Boston terrier is an absolute gem! Unfortunately, Cherry had a luxating patella of her right knee, which means that her kneecap was dislocated. While she didn’t act like she had a wonky knee (she loves to run and jump) the dislocation would lead to a painful life if she didn’t get it fixed. Because she needed knee surgery, we had to prioritize adopters who would be willing to take care of Cherry during her recovery, especially since she ended up needing two surgeries!

Cherry’s new family says she’s one of the best dogs ever. She has healed up nicely from her leg surgeries and is doing very well. Cherry may need brachycephalic surgery at some point in the future (this is a partial obstruction to breathing that is common in dog breeds with flatter snouts) but as long as she stays lean she appears to be alright.

Cherry regularly goes to work with her mom, where she enjoys being a lap dog. She’s a great little therapy dog for patients and everyone there just loves her! She is perfect; she never barks and people tell her adopter all the time that Cherry makes their day.

We rely on your donations! Please consider donating just $5 to help us rescue more dogs in need.
