Cyrus

Adopted DECEMBER 2023!

Cyrus’s Story:

Cyrus was rescued off the streets in Mongolia after he was found living outside of a convenience store there. According to the store owner, he had been abandoned and was carefully watching the door for several days, like he was waiting for someone to return for him. How heartbreaking. Sweet Cyrus made his way to America via our Freedom Flight program in December 2023, after being rescued by the UB Shelter in Mongolia. This handsome 6 to 8-year-old cocker is such a sweetheart, very friendly with people, dogs, and even cats. He’s an energetic fella and arrived fully house-trained!

Now known as Sundance, he is doing a great job of getting settled in to his new life! His family can tell that he is adjusting to some new things, like seeing a television. They tell us that Sundance uses his growl as a way to communicate being happy as well as his dislikes. He occasionally barks at people or dogs outside the window, but stops when they reassure him they’re safe. Sundance loves to visit the beach and watch the seagulls there. He happily lets the ocean water get up to his knees and his mom says he’s such a little angel in the bathtub, too.

Adopted during the holiday season, he loved opening his stuffed animal gifts for Christmas and unstuffing his very own stocking! He and his new pup sister, a red sable shepherd named Mystique, are getting along great - the two dogs play together, lay in the bed together, and help to clean up the kitchen floor while people are cooking. He knows the word “no” and is good about putting something he has picked up down when asked to. Sundance really loves his toys, but his favorite thing to do is lay in a human/pup pile with his new family on the couch or bed and snuggle in their laps.

From Sundance’s adopters: “We all love him so much already!
