Darla

Adopted OCTOBER 2021!

Darla’s Story:

Darling Darla was relinquished to Camp Cocker in October 2021 after her previous owner posted online that he could no longer keep her and was giving her away to anyone who would come get her. We are so incredibly grateful that she ended up with us and not with someone who would have used her for breeding. When we picked Darla up, she was still lactating from recently nursing a litter of puppies whom, unfortunately, her owner had already given away. Darla was matted and smelly, but we saw right off the bat that she was such a nice girl! She’s estimated to be around five years of age.

Darla’s new mom was so excited to take her home and reports that she is doing great there! She’s such a sweetheart and likes sleeping in bed right beside her mom. This girl loves to eat and is becoming increasingly relaxed as she settles into her new daily routines. Lucky Darla even has two awesome cocker spaniel siblings to help show her the ropes! She and her mom attended obedience classes together and we’re told that she’s a fast learner. A few months after her adoption, Darla had cataract surgery done; she is mostly blind now but uses her nose to find her way around. Her mom says she’s still a very happy dog! It makes us so happy knowing that Darla is finally getting the care she deserves.

From Darla’s adopter: “Thank you to Camp Cocker Rescue for giving me my Darla. I am blessed to be her Mom.”
