Ellie

Adopted NOVEMBER 2019!

Ellie’s Story:

Gorgeous Ellie was rescued from the U.S. North Central L.A. Shelter in October 2019. She had been abandoned by her owners, along with another dog named Benji, and they were held as evidence inside the shelter for 30 days. Although, the shelter could not share with us why the dogs were being held as evidence, this is done when animal abuse or neglect charges are being considered against a pet owner. Sadly, Benji passed away from spleen cancer shortly after his rescue. At around 8 or 9 years old, poor Ellie smelled terrible from being neglected for so long, but we fixed this sweetheart up and went to work finding her the best forever home!

Her new name is Winnie and she is truly living her best life. She enjoyed about a year of having a wonderful senior cocker spaniel sister, named Eloise, whom she adored and liked to cuddle and explore with. The two went on lots of fun adventures with their parents, like visiting the beach, hiking, camping, road tripping, even paddle boarding. Sadly, the family lost Eloise, but Winnie is still living a life of adventure and she’s really loving it!
