Fritz
Rescued from the Carson / Los Angeles Shelter
May 2020 - - - - - Adopted june 2020!
What we know about Fritz:
Approx. 1 year old
A terrier-cocker spaniel mix.
Very tiny! Less than 20 pounds.
Very sweet and affectionate! Loves to cuddle!
Very smart - can be easily trained
Has incredibly expressive ears and tail that never stops wagging!
Quiet and gentle - would be okay in an apartment
Loves to go on walks and chase squirrels
Good with other dogs! A little nervous at first, but follows along with a confident buddy.
He had been hit by a car but was not brought to a hospital for several weeks by his former owner. He was then relinquished to a shelter because he wasn’t able to walk.
We did x-rays, and it revealed that the fractures were already eight weeks old and calcified. For a surgical repair, it would involve sawing the bones apart and could potentially create more problems for Fritz and would make his leg shorter.
We have been bringing Fritz to physical therapy, laser therapy, and acupuncture to see if that will help improve his mobility and ability to walk. He is flourishing at the moment, and an orthopedic surgeon says he does not need surgery to fix his leg. We are hoping to find a local adopter to continue his physical therapy as needed.
**Prioritizing Los Angeles adopters at this time.**
