Notes From Gia’s Foster Parents:

Gia is a little rascal! She is ready and waiting ten minutes before mealtime; she reprimands us if we are running late. She does her happy dance as we set down her bowl. After dinner, Gia enjoys a quick sprint around the kitchen, playing, "catch me if you can.

Gia sees with her nose. If her cloudy eyes didn't remind us, we would rarely remember her blindness.

Gia loves being close to her humans. She "looks" for me when she wakes from her many naps. When I am sitting on the couch, she heads up the doggie stairs so she can nudge me with her nose to say hi then heads back down.

Gia moved in with us on March 19. The first few weeks were tough as she adjusted to yet another new environment during a short period. It is impressive though how quickly she became content and confident in our home. Gia is kind and patient with our three resident rescue doggies, despite their many quirks. She sleeps a lot, but I know she would stress and cry if her humans were away for long hours. If you work from home or can take her to work with you, that would be perfect! We have a free-standing house with a fenced-in yard. We usually leave the door cracked open for the dogs to take a sunbath and do their business at will. This is a good fit for her, but she also seems adaptable. She is accustomed to her ear cleanings and twice-daily eye drops. She is deaf and her ears require regular attention. She does eat her own poop, which is something we are working on with her.

Gia is like an adorable, favorite grandma, an independent and perky little lady who just needs lots of sleep and a little extra help! Wouldn't you love to adopt her and call her your own?
