An Emergency Rescue is Happening Now!

THURSDAY, 2/9/23 @ 4:35PM

We just committed to this little Parvo puppy!

Someone just brought this baby in to the North Central Animal Shelter less than an hour ago. She’s very sick, and has tested positive for Parvo. The shelter was going to euthanize at 6pm if no rescues came forward. We called and they said so far, no rescues - so we committed, and are on our way right now to go get her!

We will be taking Gigi directly to the VCA West LA animal hospital. She is vocal, so that's a good sign, and the VCA vets will take it from there!

UPDATE @ 8:45PM; The VCA WLA was unable to admit Gigi tonight, so we’ve driven to the VCA ASEC, and will be able to get her admitted here.

Gigi is a French Bulldog, just a few weeks old, and she weighs just 1.88 pounds. Her little life is on the line, and we’ll do whatever we need to do to help her get through this!

HEARTBREAKING UPDATE Friday 2/10/23: Gigi didn’t survive the night 😭😭😭💔💔💔. She went into a long seizure and the vet called to suggest an immediate euthanasia. The hospital suspected it was something more than just parvo. Gigi was so small, only 1.8 pound. They said it would be too much suffering to try to keep her alive. The seizure might have been something cranial (brain pushing against her skull) or distemper (very few puppies survive). Whatever it was, little Gigi has crossed the rainbow bridge now 😢🌈😢 and while our hearts are broken, her suffering is behind her. We love you, Gigi. ❤️
