Ginger’s Story:

About 6 to 7 years old, this little lady joined our rescue group in March 2020 after her former owner moved out and left her behind. She had been living outdoors and a kind neighbor started to feed her and searched out a rescue group to help. Ginger is very spunky, affectionate and sweet. She gets a little nervous around loud and excited people, and prefers to be around quieter, more gentle humans. When she joined Camp Cocker Rescue, Ginger still needed to be spayed, needed to lose a few pounds, and also had to have a full dental done.

Ginger has come a long way from living outdoors her whole life! Her new mom says Ginger is just the sweetest thing. She has made a lot of friends during her daily playgroup walks with her big brother, Paddington, and she and her family have also enjoyed doing some traveling together! She has had a few run-ins with foxtails and spent some of time at the emergency vet, but Ginger's a trooper. She has lost some weight and is overall very healthy, very happy, and very loved.

Ginger does tend to exhibit a bit of resource guarding (guarding her mommy) and leash reactivity, so they began 1:1 behavior modification training with a local trainer to better learn how to manage that behavior. We are so thankful to her patient adopter for her commitment to helping Ginger thrive.
