Graham

Adopted SEPTEMBER 2023!

Graham’s Story:

Graham was rescued from the North Central Animal Shelter in June 2023, along with his 11-pound mother, Cookie, and four siblings. The family had been discovered living under a dumpster behind a dental office. Graham and his brothers, Walnut, Chip, Butterscotch and Peanut were only a few days old at the time. Cookie was such a good mama to them! A DNA test done on Graham’s brother, Walnut (whom he closely resembles), revealed that the three fluffier boys are likely part poodle, pekingese, shih tzu, miniature schnauzer, maltese, and more! They’d actually had a different father than Peanut and Butterscotch, who got different DNA results. Handsome little Graham was the only tan puppy in the litter.

Baby Graham made it home safe and sound to Northern California and is doing amazingly well with his new shih tzu sister, Ellie. Unfortunately, he gave everyone a big scare when, a few days after adoption, he developed aspiration pneumonia, a life-threatening lung infection caused by inhalation of foreign material. Thankfully, Graham’s dad rushed him to an emergency vet when he noticed that he was acting lethargic and not eating or drinking normally. They quickly realized that Graham’s breathing was labored, an extra scary situation for a tiny puppy to be in since his lungs and airways are still growing. After lots of rest, medications, oxygen supplementation, and thorough follow up visits to their vets, Graham was deemed healthy again. Thank Dog! We love this sweet little man so much.
