WELCOME TO CAMP COCKER RESCUE GUNTHER!

Gunther is a delightful young male Cocker Spaniel, rescued from the Burbank Animal Shelter on August 15, 2023. He is estimated* to be about 3 years old and weighs about 30 pounds.

When Gunther arrived at the shelter he was full of foxtails! During his neuter surgery he had 60 foxtails removed - mostly from his ears & paws. He will also need cherry eye surgery which Camp Cocker is scheduling.

His foster mom shares this about Gunther:

  • Gunther is a very nice dog!!

  • He is youthful, energetic & playful.

  • He is 100% house-trained and hasn't had one accident indoors!

  • Gunther is a velcro dog, and doesn’t want me to leave his sight.

  • He even climbs up onto the bathroom counter to be right there with me in the mornings.

  • Gunther will cry and pace when left alone.

  • He climbs right over baby gates and tall X-pens.

  • He doesn't love the crate, but he's quiet overnight other than moving around quite a bit.

  • Gunther is cat-friendly! He'll occasionally chase my cat, but not in an aggressive manner.

  • His little tail stump is always wagging 100 mph.

  • He drinks a lot of water and I have to work to get him to eat breakfast in the mornings.

  • Gunther drools a lot! When he shakes his head it goes flying. He's like a miniature Newfoundland, lol.

  • He zig zags on the leash, but doesn't really pull. He tends to wind the leash around my legs because he's always looking up at me and circling.

  • He is curious and very eager to please.

  • Knows how to "sit" on command.

  • Chews up shoes and will chew cords, socks, etc.

Gunther is being fostered in the Los Angeles area
