Gunther

Adopted SEPTEMBER 2023!

Gunther’s Story:

This special boy was rescued from the Burbank Animal Shelter in August of 2023. He had been picked up as a stray with dirty, stinky fur that was full of foxtails. The shelter removed over sixty foxtails from Gunther’s body, especially from his feet and ears, and both of his ear drums had ruptured. They also removed the tip of Gunther’s right ear where he’d had an older injury and the skin was turning necrotic. When we took Gunther in to see our own veterinarian, they removed even more foxtails from his ears and did cherry eye surgery on both of his eyes. At approximately three years of age, Gunther is a super sweet cocker spaniel. Despite having clearly been neglected, he loves people! He is energetic, playful, and really likes to cuddle and give kisses. Not to mention he’s tall, dark and handsome!

Now named Bodhi, his new family loves him so much. The kids like throwing toys for him and they tell us he is such a love bug. Bodhi rides along taking the kids to school every morning and everyone stops to say hi to him, dogs and children alike. He is so calm with all of them. At night, he prefers to sleep in the bed with his parents, laying on their pillows or in a pillow fort of his own making. Whenever anyone gets up, Bodhi is their little shadow making sure he doesn’t miss anything! He also enjoys family walks and lounging on the sofa with his people. They tell us that the best part about adopting Bodhi, though, is the happiness and light that has filled their home again.

From Bodhi’s adopters: “We feel blessed to have him as part of our family.
