Gus Gus’s Story:

Estimated to be 2-3 years old, this shy mixed breed had entered a Korean shelter covered in blood and missing the lower half of his left arm. It will always be a mystery what happened to Gus Gus, but he is certainly a trauma survivor. The amazing tripod boy joined us in February 2021 as one of our Freedom Flyers from South Korea, in need of a special adopter who would be patient with him and continue taking him to physical therapy.

Gus Gus likes to sprint around the yard in short bursts, then sit and rest. He needs lots of breaks because he has to work extra hard on his three legs just to walk. That is why sprinting is easier for him, because he can fly using three legs but a slow walk takes a lot more effort. His first few days in his new home were a big adjustment for Gus Gus, getting used to the new house and all of the different sights, sounds, and smells there, but his new parents were surprised by how quickly he seemed to adjust after only one week.

His adopters are thrilled that he is such an easy dog behavior-wise and tell us that it feels like he’s already been in their family for months! His mom and dad are both completely obsessed with him and can’t stop taking pictures and petting him every chance they get. We are so happy for Gus Gus. He deserves his fresh start with people who love him!
