Honey

Adopted NOVEMBER 2023!

Honey’s Story:

This sweet cocker spaniel was rescued from certain death off of the streets in Mongolia by rescuers at Хөөрхөн Зулзага ТББ in January 2023. Temperatures drop down to 35 degrees below zero in the freezing winters there. If Honey hadn’t frozen to death, there are hunters who are hired to get rid of stray dogs that would have gotten her. Sadly, there are no good options for strays in Mongolia unless one of the two underfunded rescues there take them in. Honey is one of the dogs from Mongolia that Camp Cocker Rescue had committed to in March. Her before photos made us cry, she was so dirty and matted. The process to bring these dogs to the U.S. is a long one, then the hardest part is to find someone to fly there and bring the dogs back to California for us. Honey made the journey here with some nice Camp Cocker adopters who flew to Mongolia to get Jessy, whom they adopted from us. We are so thankful to them for giving Honey a lift home!

Now known as Molly, her adopters tell us she’s just the sweetest! Her very first night with them went way better than they’d expected. After inspecting every square inch of the house they took her to the park for a nice walk, then she cuddled with each of them while watching tv, and settled in on their bed and slept quietly through the night. Her potty training is perfect and she’s already found a favorite window perch in their office to watch people walk by. Honey is estimated to be around 5-6 years of age and can be a little bossy when she meets other dogs, but she gets along great with her new big brother, Wyatt, a very sweet 6-year-old shepherd mix.

From Molly’s adopters: “Thank YOU for giving her a chance to make her way to us.
