JESSY IS COMING TO CAMP COCKER RESCUE!
From Rob & Kim, the movers and shakers of this Mongolian rescue partnership with Camp Cocker Rescue:
Jessy is a sweet, quiet girl, approximately eight years old. She’s the smallest of this group of Mongolian rescue dogs, weighing only 10kg (22lbs).
UB Shelter rescued Jessy in 2022 after someone saw her in the street in the Narantuul area of Ulaanbaatar. She was drinking from a muddy puddle and, judging by her appearance, she’d been a stray for a long time.
At UB Shelter, Jessy lived among 90 other dogs without any issues, and even got along with the shelter’s cats. She enjoyed being with other small dogs and she especially loved playing with puppies.
She likes attention from people and will sit next to you and lean up against you to be petted. It seems certain she was a house dog at some point, and she looks as though she’s had multiple litters of puppies.
She currently lives at Solace Canine Academy, a boarding facility in Ulaanbaatar, waiting for her chance to fly to Camp Cocker.
Jessy has a sweet disposition and she’s heart-breakingly cute. She’ll make a great companion for her forever family.

In the fall of 2022 Camp Cocker committed to taking in seven cocker spaniels & cocker mixes from Mongolia.
The process is quite extensive because Mongolia is on the list of countries that the C.D.C. has on a watch list for rabies. So each dog must go through a lengthy process in order to get approved to enter the U.S.
It can take up to five months (or longer!) to get permission, after two rabies vaccines, a blood draw, a titer test and lots of paperwork.
We at Camp Cocker Rescue believe that compassion has no borders and just because Jessy happened to be born into a situation where her options were limited, doesn't mean she isn't worth being rescued.
Thank you for having a heart for dogs like Jessy. It means so much to us to be able to say “yes” to a shelter dog in need - no matter where that shelter is located.
