JinJu

Adopted MARCH 2024!

JinJu’s Story:

This tiny poodle pup flew to America from South Korea at the end of March 2024 as part of our Freedom Flight program. He was about 4-5 months old when he made the trip and weighed only 5.5 pounds. JinJu had been found with a horrible wound on his backside that was very hard to look at. A compassionate volunteer for the Cocker Moms (aka Cocker Spaniel Friends) drove 7 hours to pick him up from the Kang-Jin Shelter so that they could get him the medical care he so desperately needed. Even though he left Seoul at 4 in the morning, he returned after the hospital had closed due to a sudden snow storm, so JinJu spent a night in the volunteer’s home. JinJu was too weak to go right into surgery, but the vet cleaned the large wound and kept him in isolation where they nursed the tiny puppy back to health. After a few days, they were able to treat and suture what appeared to be either a chemical burn or an untreated injury that had become infected, and the sweet boy was finally on his way to recovery!

When JinJu traveled here, he had adopters waiting for him at the Seattle, WA airport. They could not wait to welcome their adorable new family member! Now known as “JJ” for short, his new family reports that he’s doing amazing so far. They tell us he is working on potty training and is learning fast. JJ and his new dog brother, Sam, are getting along great and enjoying their time together. It’s incredibly fun to watch them play! JJ brings lots of puppy energy to the party and Sam is happy to partake, but the young cockapoo also enjoys his alone time. The family is excited about this transition and taking it one moment at a time. Of course, everyone who meets JJ thinks he’s the cutest!

From JJ’s adopters: “Thank you all for this opportunity.
