Juniper’s Story:

Sweet, shy Juniper was rescued from the South Los Angeles Animal Shelter in August 2020 after she had been hit by a car. She had sustained several fractures, was nervous and terrified of everything, and was very emaciated. At around 4-6 years old, this little Chihuahua mix needed lots of support.

Camp Cocker Rescue drove Juniper directly to an emergency veterinary hospital, where they did surgery to repair fractures on both sides of her body and put a metal plate in her back left leg. She spent several months going to physical therapy to help her with the healing process and build up muscle strength again. Juniper is now putting weight on her back leg and has improved exponentially.

Juniper’s adopters report that she has been adjusting well to her new home. She loves playing with toys, napping, and getting treats! She is a super sweet girl who rarely barks and has become much less shy since her rescue. She doesn’t have an aggressive bone in her body and just wants to be pet all the time. Juniper is very affectionate and now loves to be around people. She is very curious about other dogs and is slowly learning how to play and make friends. Her parents will continue her supplements and home exercises for life to promote knee, hip, and joint health.

From Juniper’s adopters: “We love her so much!!!”
