Louiseā€™s Story:

This gorgeous gal was 9 years old when we rescued her from the Baldwin Park Animal Shelter. She had been relinquished there by her previous owner and was covered in foxtails and oozing sores.

Foxtails are pointy weeds that are extremely dangerous to dogs when they enter the body. They can cause serious infections and even death. Poor Louise needed multiple exploratory surgeries to find and remove them from all over her body. After four surgeries, the last one including a CT scan and a board certified surgeon, they finally removed all of the foxtails!

Despite how painful she must have been with all of those foxtails and infected sores, this amazing Cocker lady has always been oh-so-sweet, social, and very curious. She always has a happy tail! Louise was adopted by her foster mom who helped her through the post-op care of her last surgery and she is flourishing! Louise loves snuggling, exploring, and going to the beach with her mama.
