What we know about Mabel: 

• Mabel is approximately 7-9 years old.

• She is beautiful, sweet and affectionate - with a personality that wants to please! Mabel is eager to learn the rules so that she can please her person, and feel comfortable in her environment. She will easily become very attached to her person!

• Mabel has some guarding issues and fear triggers, especially when being handled. Please see the newest video below - “Mabel has been flourishing in her foster home” - for an update on how Mabel has been adapting.

• She is easily stressed when being walked on a leash, which can lead to reactivity toward other dogs.

• Mabel will do best in a house with a yard - with no other dogs, and no children.

• Mabel will need a dog-savvy adopter who will be able to understand and anticipate her fear-based reactions, learn to read her body language, and respond to her appropriately. The help of a trainer, to learn how to interact with Mabel in a positive productive manner, may be needed.

• To set Mabel up for success in her new home, her ideal adopter will be local, and available to meet & interact with Mabel in her foster home, before taking her home.
