Mabel

Adopted JUNE 2022!

Mabel’s Story:

This stunning gal was rescued from the San Bernardino animal shelter in Devore, CA in August 2020. Marvelous Mabel was approximately 7-9 years old, was very sweet, with a personality that wants to please! Mabel was eager to learn, but she was also nervous and reactive with fast movements. In order to set her up for success, she required an adopter who is able to be tuned in to her body language at all times. Mabel is not a fan of sharing people with other pets and we learned that if we pet her we couldn't do it if any other pets were nearby or she’d become reactive. Mabel did get along fine with other dogs at doggie daycare (as long as no pets were being given out) but she was leash reactive when out in public. For this reason, our ideal home for Mabel would be an environment where she would have access to a backyard and wouldn't have to be stressed out by four or more walks a day to go out to potty.

Mabel is the dream dog as long as she doesn't get triggered with her reactivity issues, which have improved significantly since her adoption! This beautiful girl with the expressive eyes is so affectionate and really loves getting attention. She was adopted by her foster mom, who’d had her for quite some time because of the challenges she faced to getting adopted. Mabel shares her home with multiple foster dogs with few complaints; although, in her dream world, she’d likely prefer to have her human all to herself. We are so proud of how far Mabel has come since her rescue!
