Mable

Adopted MARCH 2023!

Mable’s Story:

Mable and her sister, Minnie, joined Camp Cocker in January 2023 after some good samaritans rescued them from an elderly couple who could no longer care for them. The dogs had been living outdoors in a rural area that had coyotes, and the rest of the puppies had already been given away. We believe these adorable terriers are likely mixed with a breed called Portuguese Podengo, which are described as lively, agile, and playful. Besides being a very sweet puppy, Mable is energetic, smart and eager to please. She really loves to run and can jump super high! She had less confidence than Minnie and needed to gain it by becoming independent from her sister. Many people are unaware that “littermate syndrome“ can create a dog that is more timid when another puppy takes a leadership role, and that’s exactly what was happening with Mable and Minnie. As with most littermates, it will be mentally healthier for them to be apart so they can each come into their own unique personalities and not be codependent on one another.

Now known as Peach, her parents are crazy about their affectionate little puppy! She is very silly and playful, but also loves to snuggle up with them and give kisses. Peach absolutely loves attention and affection. She is a really good girl with her new cat sisters, Summer and Cariño, and the three became fast friends! Peach also loves to play with toys, especially ones that she can squeak, squeak, squeak! She enjoys frequent trips to the dog park where she can show off her speed and socialize with other dogs. In addition to visiting the park and taking lots of long walks together, her adopters look forward to sharing hiking adventures and beach trips with their precious princess Peach.

From Peach’s adopters: “She’s the sweetest little girl, we love her so much already!
