Mango

Adopted SEPTEMBER 2023!

Mango’s Story:

Mango joined Camp Cocker as one of our Freedom Flyers from South Korea in August 2023. He was only about 7 months old and absolutely precious. The youngster was saved from a puppy mill located in the middle of nowhere by our rescue partners known as Cocker Spaniel Friends aka the Cocker Moms. The woman who discovered the place had actually been lost and she heard the dogs barking and reported it. As with most puppy mills, the conditions were horrendous and the dogs spent their entire lives in filthy cages. Having never left his cage before, Mango urinated on his rescuers out of fear. He was extremely timid. Mango’s ears were also very inflamed and needed treatment, but he appeared healthy otherwise. It is believed that one of the dogs he’d been rescued with, named Apple, is his mother.

After spending some time in a nice foster home, Mango started to walk on a leash (when accompanied by other dogs) and slowly began to open up. He really transformed! After getting neutered, vaccinated, and groomed, he was ready to travel to America! By that time, this sweet boy was much more social and always had tail waggies for everyone met.

Now named Chance, he had an adopter lined up before ever traveling to Los Angeles, CA. His new sister, Ginger (also a Camp Cocker alum, class of 2020!) definitely approves of her new little brother. Their mom is so proud of her. The two dogs get along splendidly and couldn’t be any cuter together if they tried! Chance is taking puppy training classes with his adopter, enjoying all kinds of fun adventures, and loving every moment of his awesome new life in San Francisco.
