Marlin’s Story:

This sweet gentle soul was quite a bit of a project when we first rescued him. A 9 to 12 year old Retriever-Spaniel mix, we rescued Marlin from the East Valley Shelter in January 2020. He had to be hospitalized for a bad cough, requiring multiple sets of x-rays, and we’d even taken him for a cardiologist workup to rule out any heart issues. Turns out his ticker was normal for a senior dog. Through process of elimination, it’s likely that Marlin has a permanent cough from scar tissue damage. His mouth was rotted and he needed oral surgery to extract so many of his teeth. This sweet Grandpa is always happy and smiling, despite having no teeth! Marlin was so docile and gentle, just the perfect little older gentleman.

Precious Marlin is very happy in his new home and has really settled in. He still has that yucky cough, but his parents make sure he gets the best possible care. They have a big backyard that he gets to hang out in and they go on several walks a day for exercise and fresh air. Marlin is a mellow guy who likes to sleep a lot, and he absolutely loves people and wants to be around them all the time.

From Marlin’s adopters: “He really is a very sweet boy and we are very lucky we all found each other!”
