Max

Adopted OCTOBER 2023!

Max’s Story:

Rescued in September 2023, we got this darling senior boy from the North Central Animal Shelter after they’d reached out to us about him. Sadly, after years of affection and loyalty, his owners had relinquished him there. The entire shelter staff was madly in love with this incredible little dog! Unfortunately, Max was blind in his left eye and it was enlarged from untreated glaucoma. He also had a luxating lens in the right eye. We were eager to help Max feel better and after visiting with a veterinary ophthalmologist Max had the left eye removed during his dental surgery. Weighing only fifteen pounds, Max is the perfect little gentleman, a lovely lap dog who likes to cuddle and share lots of sweet kisses.

Max’s new mom had adopted from Camp Cocker Rescue three times in the past (her last dog, whom she’d just lost, lived to be nearly 19 years old!) and she couldn't wait to meet this little angel. We hope Max will help to heal her broken heart and fill her home with love. She tells us that Max’s DNA test revealed he’s a mix of small poodle, cocker spaniel, chihuahua, pekingese, and pomeranian… but according to her, he’s 100% perfectly hers! They enjoy playing in the yard together, taking strolls through their neighborhood in beautiful Northern California, and visiting friends for play dates.

From Max’s adopter: “We're doing great...he's perfect and I adore him.
