Milky

Adopted JANUARY 2024!

Milky’s Story:

What a face! This darling little lady came to us from South Korea in February of 2023 thanks to our rescue partners at Korean K9 Rescue. Estimated to be perhaps 6-8 years old, she’s very small, weighing only 19 pounds. We took Milky to see a cardiologist, where she was diagnosed with a grade 3 heart murmur and mild mitral valve disease. She was also seen by a dermatologist for inflamed and swollen ears, likely from untreated ear infections, and allergies that made her extremely itchy. She now gets immunotherapy and a special isotherapy serum that was created specifically for her allergens.

Milky’s a super sweet girl who loves to be the center of attention! She’ll follow you around for cuddles, treats, pets, whatever she can get. Unfortunately, because she’d been rescued from a puppy mill, where she never left the cage, she had a difficult time with her potty training. She didn’t like walking on grass and simply did not understand that she wasn’t supposed to potty indoors. Because of this, plus some separation anxiety, Milky was a challenge to get adopted. That is, until she went to stay in a nice foster-to-adopt home with a woman who works in dog training and was committed to helping her with her issues.

Her new parents were thrilled to adopt the adorable “Milky Milkshake” and are excited to watch her thrive through the years. Her new name is London (Miss London Bridges) and they tell us that she has already provided them with so much love. In fact, they are head over heels for their precious girl! About two months after she went to stay with them, they reported that she was officially potty trained. She now consistently shows herself out through their doggy door when she needs to relieve herself. They attribute this success to her feeling safe and acclimated to her new space, as well as the fact that she’s learned their routine and how to communicate with them, and that she has become much more confident walking on grass. Potty pads and cream cheese also helped! Once she potties outside, London runs inside excited for her tasty treat. They continue to work diligently on her separation anxiety training and ongoing allergy issues.

From London’s adopters: “Thank you for entrusting this angel with us. We will give her the best life possible.
