Minnie

Adopted JUNE 2023!

Minnie’s Story:

Minnie and her sister, Mable, joined Camp Cocker in January 2023 after some good samaritans rescued them from an elderly couple who could no longer care for them. The dogs had been living outdoors in a rural area that had coyotes; unfortunately, the rest of the litter had already been given away. Besides being a very sweet girl, Minnie is energetic, smart, and much more confident than her sister. She could sometimes be bossy with Mable and the pups needed to be separated ASAP to avoid littermate syndrome. As with most littermates, it would be mentally healthier for these ladies to be apart so they could each come into their own unique personalities and not be codependent on one another.

Now known as Zelda, her parents tell us that she is fitting in perfectly and getting along really well with their other pup, Lucy, a 5-year-old terrier mix. The two dogs were instant best friends! They play together all day and even sleep cuddled up together. Zelda enjoys zooming around their yard and going for evening walks with her family. She loves to snuggle and will nap in any odd body position as long as she’s near them. They've noticed some resource guarding of food and sometimes of her bed with Lucy, so they’ve been managing that. Otherwise, things are going great with Zelda. Nothing they’re too concerned about, they tell us - she's still learning! Her adopters look forward to giving her everything she needs to thrive.
