Mr. Peanut

Adopted SEPTEMBER 2022!

Mr. Peanut’s Story:

This darling boy was rescued from the Orange County Animal Shelter in August 2022. Our vet estimated his age to be between 2-5 years, but he acts like a puppy! Mr. Peanut is super sweet and energetic. When he’d arrived at the shelter as a stray, his left eye was bulging out of his head due to some sort of trauma, already blind and very painful. The vet did enucleation surgery, which involves removing the eyeball completely and sewing the skin closed over the socket. It must have been such a relief for him to have that done! Now pain-free and always sharing a “wink wink” (he is officially a member of the one-eyed wigglebutt club), this happy-go-lucky fella was ready for his fresh start in life.

Well, he didn’t waste any time making himself right at home with his new family! He is now known as Ollie and when he’s not playing in their big backyard, he enjoys exploring the neighborhood and nearby parks on their walks together. It took his new brother, Monkey (also a cocker spaniel), a little while to get used to having another dog around, but their parents were happy to work with them and took them on lots of long walks together, certain they’d be best buds in time! Ollie’s family also took him to obedience training and tell us he’s a quick learner and continues to do well with his commands. Way to go, Ollie!

Ollie enjoys making new acquaintances, loves to run and play, and always has a happy, waggily tail for everyone he meets. He really loves to snuggle up with his humans and just wants to be around them every possible moment he can.

From Ollie’s family: “He’s a wonderful little guy and we’re happy to have him in our family!”
