Pancake’s Story:

Sweet senior boy Pancake was rescued from the Hesperia Animal Shelter in June 2021 after he had been relinquished by his previous owners. He had a minor cherry eye which did not require surgery, several mysterious masses on his body, and severe dental disease. Pancake required multiple teeth extractions and received antibiotics for a gum infection, as well as having some cysts removed from his face and throat, fatty tissues removed from his hips, and an abdominal mass that turned out to be an umbilical hernia. He also had some facial paralysis that is gradually improving. After Pancake was all fixed up, it was time to find the perfect forever home for this nice fella.

Now named Butterscotch Pancake, he has a mom who thinks the absolute world of him. She shares that he is truly a "gentle man". He is well-trained, perfectly behaved, and a lovely companion. He’d been very well socialized and everyone who meets him comments on what a good doggy he is. His adopter’s only wish is that BP were 4, 6, or 8 years old rather than the estimated 12. New friends can hardly believe that he is a senior, but they haven’t heard him snore!

BP and his new mom enjoy going to the beach together where, even though he isn’t crazy about the water, he loves the cool breezes, watching the people and their pets, and sniffing in the sand. He is her seventh cocker spaniel and is by far the best behaved and the most beautiful of all. His coat is so soft with a beautiful "butterscotch and cream" coloring.
