WELCOME TO AMERICA PEPPER!

FREEDOM FLYER Pepper landed in Los Angeles after a long plane ride from Mongolia. He is estimated* to be 2-3 years old and weighs 32 pounds. Be sure to read the 1/22/23 UPDATE below for good information about Pepper’s personality from our rescue partners in Mongolia. One additional note is that he was super friendly with strangers when we took him to his veterinary appointment.

*Please note that any age provided is only an estimate, based on veterinary examination!

1/22/23 UPDATE:

From Rob & Kim, the movers and shakers of this Mongolian rescue partnership with Camp Cocker Rescue:

Pepper is a stray from Ulaanbaatar who spent several months at the Huurhun Zulzaga animal shelter. He lived in a small pen of dogs his size, mostly cocker spaniels. He LOVES to play with dogs, but they often don’t like to play with him. He plays rough, getting a dog’s attention by nipping at their coat or pulling on their ears, and usually receives a growl or angry barking as a response.

If there are no dogs around to distract him, he becomes a different dog. He will play with toys, and he is sweet and snuggly with people. He is a charmer, and will happily lay silently in someone’s lap and get petted. If you have a dog that likes to get rough with playmates, Pepper is ready. Otherwise, he would probably do best in a home without other dogs.

5/20/23 - PEPPER IS READY TO FLY TO AMERICA!

In the fall of 2022, Camp Cocker committed to taking in seven cocker spaniels & cocker mixes from Mongolia.

The process is quite extensive because Mongolia is on the list of countries that the C.D.C. has on a watch list for rabies.   So each dog must go through a lengthy process in order to get approved to enter the U.S.

It can take up to five months (or longer!) to get permission, after two rabies vaccines, a blood draw, a titer test and lots of paperwork.

We at Camp Cocker Rescue believe that compassion has no borders and just because Pepper happened to be born into a situation where his options were limited, doesn't mean he isn't worth being rescued.

PLEASE HELP US RAISE FUNDS TO SUPPORT PEPPER AND THE OTHER COCKER SPANIELS FROM MONGOLIA!

No amount is too small - and each donation is very much appreciated!

We rely on support in the form of small donations and volunteers. Please consider donating any amount to help us meet our rescue expenses which include medical, transport, and general care for rescued dogs awaiting adoption!
