Pickle

Adopted JUNE 2023!

Pickle’s Story:

We met adorable puppy Pickle at the Riverside Animal Shelter in May 2023 and went back to pick him up there after he’d been neutered. This little cocker mix was super friendly and not very old (maybe a year or two, if that?). He’s just a little guy, weighing about fifteen pounds, and has the most precious little face! He’s very sweet and snuggly, has lots of puppy energy, and likes to cuddle up next to you for a long nap after playing hard.

Pickle is adjusting nicely in his new home and is getting along great with his new family. He’s such a happy puppy and is having a blast playing with all of his new dog toys, especially the ones with squeakers! He already sleeps well through the night and is excited to see his humans in the morning. He hasn’t had any accidents inside either. His young human brothers think he’s a sweet ”little baby” and enjoy reading their books to him. Pickle also has a new obsession - visiting the beach! The boys love to work on "sit" with him there and play fetch.

His family continue to work on his mouthy play by encouraging toys not hands and say that's improving. Pickle is sometimes reactive on the leash with some dogs or people running by. It’s more of a problem that they’d anticipated (he's not aggressive, but has a loud bark and sometimes sounds scary to others in these moments) so they’ve signed him up for a few training classes to help him become calmer and more reliable in public. At home, Pickle likes to follow his family around everywhere and snuggle up with them on the couch. He is a darling little boy!

From Pickle’s adopters: “I’m amazed at his love already and am looking forward to growing with him!
