Pretzel

Adopted JANUARY 2024!

Pretzel’s Story:

We’d rescued Pretzel and his six littermates from the North Central animal shelter in January 2024 after they had been left there in a laundry basket by someone claiming they didn't know who or where the parents were. The shelter staff immediately reached out to Camp Cocker to ask if we could take them - of course we said yes! The cockapoo mix puppies were about 10 weeks of age and are all so sweet and playful! Unlike his sister and brothers, who all have mostly black fur (some with a tiny bit of white on them), Pretzel was the only tan puppy in the litter.

Now called Benson, his new family has him on a schedule that his foster mom filled them in on and say it really helps! Benson responds to his new name and is having such fun running and playing in their backyard. He already understands some simple commands like “no”, “come”, and "want to go night night?". His parents keep a little elephant outside of his crate that he focuses on and watches as it plays lullabies for him and lights up, so that is his cue he's to go to sleep. He loves that!!!! It calms him down and he goes right to sleep after 2 lullabies! His new mama also sprayed mommy dog pheromones on the elephant and thinks that helps him, too. Benson eats out of a slow feeder bowl and regularly goes potty on a potty pad. He loves to play with all of his toys and has a special chew for teething, which his parents say has been a godsend with his sharp little puppy teeth.

From Benson’s adopters: “He is the sweetest most loving puppy ever!! We feel so blessed!
