River

Adopted SEPTEMBER 2022!

River’s Story:

This sweetheart was rescued in August 2022 when we pulled him from the South Los Angeles Shelter. He had been turned in by someone claiming to have found him running loose, with multiple bite wounds, especially around his neck area. He appeared to have been attacked by a larger dog and needed immediate medical attention. River also had a grade 3 heart murmur and double cherry eyes that had been neglected. He was not neutered or microchipped, and he had no collar or I.D. tag on. River ended up needing multiple surgeries because his ghastly wounds were not closing up and the skin was turning necrotic. This poor little dude was such a good sport through it all, even wagging his tail when he must have been so painful.

We are so glad that we were able to get this guy the help he needed! He clearly had a rough start in life and he deserves so much better. Now named Dobby, he brings such comfort to his new parents, who consider their dogs their children. They will spare no expense to keep their dogs happy and healthy, and were eager to provide a loving, happy and safe home for darling Dobby. He now lives with a 7-month-old Australian Labradoodle, named Augie, to whom his parents say Dobby is the best big brother! Dobby enjoys snuggling with his brother and likes to run and play in the large backyard.
