WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT ROBBIE:
Robbie is a Freedom Flyer from South Korea. He arrived at LAX from South Korea on Memorial Day, May 30, 2022.
Robbie is a charming male Cockalier, estimated to be about 4-6 years old, and at 18 pounds he is clearly overweight! Not to worry, Robbie, we can help you with that!
As soon as he arrived at the airport and we took him out of his crate, it was clear that Robbie was a sweet and friendly guy! He’s good with other dogs, too! We’re just getting to know him, so please stay tuned here for more information as we get him vetted..
UPDATE: Robbie’s had his surgical consult with a board-certified specialist, resulting in a diagnosis of bilateral luxating patellas. He will have surgery on his left knee first, followed by crate rest and physical therapy. That surgery will be followed by another for his right knee, with a similar post-op routine. The total time-line for both will be about 4-5 months.
For the time being, we’re limiting adopters to the Los Angeles area who are willing to get Robbie to all of this surgical and physical therapy (PT) appointments, and provide the post-op crate rest that will be required for his recovery.
Camp Cocker will sponsor the costs of surgery and PT. The adopter will need to commit to a total of up to 4-5 months of transporting Robbie to his surgical appointments, providing crate rest post-operatively, and getting him to physical therapy 2-3 times a week for up to 8 weeks.
