Ruby

Adopted MAY 2022!

Ruby’s Story:

Estimated to be 4-6 years old, sweet Ruby was rescued from the freezing cold winter of South Korea. Our rescue partners known as the Cocker Moms had heard about a group of cocker spaniels that were living outside and had been abandoned there six months prior. They arrived just in time to save all of the dogs because that very night the winter temperatures dropped below freezing! One of those dogs was darling little Ruby, who turned out to be pregnant. Ruby gave birth to seven puppies on December 18th in the safety of a nice foster home in South Korea. Once she’d finished nursing her babies, Ruby received treatment for heartworm. She flew to America as one of our Freedom Flyers in May 2022 followed by two of her puppies, Eddie and Jack, who made the trip about a week after her arrival. We were so excited to meet them all!

Ruby’s adopters had been waiting for months to meet their beautiful girl. They greeted Ruby at the airport upon arrival and were finally able to take her home! She's doing wonderfully well and is so affectionate with her parents. She’s quite the little snuggle bug and gets especially excited whenever they return home from work. Ruby is growing more comfortable with her surroundings by the day and her mom and dad plan to continue easing her into her new life slowly. She's still a bit wary of strangers and new visitors, especially men, but she trusts her adopters to gently introduce her and has shown that she can learn to make new friends! She has really warmed up to her grandpa, who takes care of Ruby whenever her parents are out of town. Ruby enjoys going to the dog park, taking her daily naps (always with her tongue hanging out), and from time to time she’ll pick up a toy to play with.

From Ruby’s adopters: “She has brought so much joy back into our lives, we are so lucky to have her.”
