Rupert

Adopted MAY 2022!

Rupert’s Story:

Rescued from the East Valley animal shelter in January 2021, Rupert was completely deaf. He had yucky ears that required a deep flushing, his fur was matted and dirty, and he was in desperate need of dental care. He also had an abscess below one of his ears that needed to be drained, and he was treated with a nebulizer due to a bad cough. Estimated to be around 8-9 years old, Rupert is a very sweet boy who likes people and other dogs. He didn’t like having his head or his ears touched and he demonstrated resource guarding with anything of value that he wanted to chew on, usually plastic baggies. This meant that Rupert would need an adult-only home with a dog savvy adopter who could be hyper-vigilant about their interactions with him. It took a long time to find the right home for this special guy.

His adopters wanted him to have a companion, so they adopted Rupert along with another Camp Cocker dog, named Bechu (now Corbin), whom we had just rescued from South Korea. Rupert and Corbin are doing great in their new home! They both have settled in very nicely and are enjoying getting to know each other better and bonding with their new parents. Now living in Arizona, the boys enjoy walking the golf course with their mom, exploring their backyard, and cuddling up close with their people.

From Rupert’s adopter: “We love them both very much.”
